HOUSE BILL 8
Law
Temporary vehicle permits
TRANSPORTATION – Amends existing law to provide for temporary vehicle permits pursuant to board rule.
RS29909C1 / H0008
Consistent with the Governor’s Red Tape Reduction Act this proposed legislation eliminates the requirement that commercial drivers display a printed copy of their temporary registration permit in the windshield of the vehicle. Removing the requirement allows for increased flexibility in proving a temporary registration permit. The proposal also removes obsolete and unnecessary restrictions on purchasing a thirty-day unladen weight permit.
This legislation will have no impact on the state’s General fund or any dedicated fund or federal fund. The legislation will not change any existing programs or cause any new implementation expenditures.
