HOUSE BILL 85
Law
Vehicle titles, fees
COUNTIES – Amends existing law to provide for the same county services administrative fee for all title transactions.
RS30166 / H0085
The proposed legislation would allow a title administrative fee to be set by a Board of County Commissioners to cover costs at the county level associated with title transactions instead of having property taxes cover the shortfall or longer wait times at the county DMV.
There is no impact to the State General Fund. There is an estimated cost of $24,000 in one-time development costs to the Idaho Transportation Department dedicated funds which would be absorbed in the ITD budget. County benefits will vary depending on where they set the title administrative fee.
