BUILDING CODES – Adds to existing law to establish a requirement that certain refrigerants not be prohibited.

This legislation clarifies that state and municipal building codes cannot prohibit the use of a substitute refrigerant allowed by Environmental Protection Agency, provided the equipment is listed and installed in compliance with the latest safety standards.

This bill will have no fiscal impact to the state General Fund or local units of government.
