HOUSE BILL 179
Law
Ranked choice voting prohibition
VOTING – Adds to existing law to prohibit the use of ranked choice voting in Idaho.
RS30353 / H0179
Prohibition of Ranked-Choice Voting and Instant Runoff Voting in Idaho. Our purpose is to preserve a fair and transparent electoral process in Idaho. We support the prohibition of ranked-choice voting and instant runoff voting in any local, statewide, or federal election held in the state to ensure every vote is counted accurately and the candidate with the most votes is elected. This approach will simplify the voting process and maintain consistency in the electoral process.
There is no impact to the State's General Fund or local governments.
