Landscape control permits
HIGHWAYS – Adds to existing law to establish landscape control permits for owners of outdoor advertisements and business signs.

The purpose of this bill is to clarify that legally erected outdoor advertising and business identification signs provide a substantial service and benefit to Idaho and Idaho's citizens as well as the traveling public. Therefore, it is in the public interest that provisions be made for the visibility of outdoor advertising signs and business identification signs legally erected and maintained along roadways in Idaho to increase safety and provide information regarding services or products available to the general public.
There will be no fiscal impact to the general fund. There could be a small reduction in permit fee revenue to local jurisdictions if their current permit fee exceeds the proposed $500.00 cap.
