Court fees, deadlines
COURT FEES – Amends existing law to revise deadlines for the transmission of certain court fees to the state treasurer.

RS30012 / S1034

County clerks are required to collect court fees and send them to the State each month. For most fees, the date by which clerks must send payments was recently changed from the 5th day of each month to the 15th day each month. For consistency, this bill would shift the dates for eight remaining fees from the 5th day of each month to the 15th day each month.

There is no additional cost to the general fund. This bill would not change the amount sent by the counties to the State; it would only change the dates.
