Court fees, change of venue
COURT FEES – Amends existing law to revise a provision regarding the payment of a fee to change court venue.

RS30082 / S1035

When a court case is moved from one venue to another, county clerks must collect a change of venue filing fee. This bill would allow the fee to be paid to and retained by the original court, so that it can be paid at the same time the motion for change of venue is filed.

There is no additional cost to the general fund. This bill would not change the amount of the fee, only the county by which it is collected.
