Criminal forfeiture
CRIMINAL FORFEITURE – Adds to existing law to provide for criminal forfeiture for certain crimes against children and vulnerable adults.

RS30275 / S1087

This legislation will allow law enforcement to destroy computers and associated equipment used in the commission of crimes against children instead of storing and returning this property to those convicted under 18-1507 - 18-1509A, Idaho Code after a sentence has been served.

A positive fiscal impact is expected since secure storage space will be freed up and there will be no need for police departments to purge hard drives and the like in advance of returning this equipment.
