Public assistance, penalties
PUBLIC ASSISTANCE – Amends existing law to provide a civil penalty for public assistance providers who fail to timely complete required training for staff.

RS29950C1 / S1091

This legislation adds additional authority to assess civil monetary penalties for non-compliance of rules and regulations associated with protecting vulnerable Idahoans through criminal history and background checks and required training for proper Medicaid participant care.

This legislation will have no impact on the state’s General fund or any dedicated fund or federal fund because the additional receipts gained through civil monetary penalty assessments will be used to offset the additional cost of filling department vacancies.
