Public contracts, boycotts
STATE GOVERNMENT AND STATE AFFAIRS – Adds to existing law to prohibit public contracts with companies that boycott certain business sectors.

RS30272 / H0189

This legislation prohibits public contracts with companies that are boycotting certain industries. It defines the meaning of boycott and the industries included. It clarifies the definition of reasonable business purpose and offers an exemption process that is transparent to the public.

There should be no fiscal impact since the appeals of an award relies upon the existing process and any notification of an exemption for public transparency would be ministerial in nature.
