HOUSE BILL 221
Law
Tax correspondence, officials names
ETHICS IN GOVERNMENT – Adds to existing law to prohibit the name of any public official or any electioneering message from appearing on tax commission correspondence or county property tax correspondence.
RS30415C1 / H0221
The “No Electioneering with Public Funds Act” prohibits the executive branch and county commissioners, who play the executive role at the county level, from disseminating electioneering messages via State Tax Commission and property tax correspondence.
There is no fiscal impact as this bill simply restricts electioneering messages on tax communications. This legislation causes no additional expenditure of funds at the state or local level of government nor does it cause an increase or decrease in revenue for state or local government therefore the legislation has no fiscal impact.
