HOUSE BILL 320
Community colleges, levy
EDUCATION – Amends existing law to provide that a levy for a community college may not be made if the college’s accreditation has been revoked and is not restored within two years.
RS30641 / H0320
The purpose of this legislation is to revoke a community college district’s property tax levy authority should the community college lose its accreditation and fail to regain accreditation within two years.
There is no anticipated impact to any state-appropriated fund. Should a community college district lose its levy authority under this section it would provide property tax relief to the taxpayers of the community college district.
