ADVISORY BALLOT – Provides for an advisory question to be placed on the ballot before the voters regarding the diversion of public tax dollars for certain private schools.

RS30629C2 / H0339

The purpose of this legislation is to allow Idaho voters the opportunity to indicate their support or opposition to the question: Should the State of Idaho, the Idaho Legislature, or any state agency direct or appropriate public tax dollars to private K-12 schools, including private religious schools, and for-profit schools? The advisory vote would take place during the November 2024 statewide general election.

This legislation will have no additional fiscal impact because the costs are covered by existing appropriation for the 2024 statewide general election.
