HOUSE BILL 402
Law
Injection wells
INJECTION WELLS – Amends existing law to remove and revise provisions regarding class II injection wells.
RS30790 / H0402
The purpose of this legislation is to amend Chapter 39, Title 42, Idaho Code to remove language and references regarding Class II Oil and Gas injections wells. Idaho does not regulate or permit Class II injection wells. Idaho deleted administrative rules regulating Class II wells in 2019 after the United States EPA assumed responsibility to permit Class II wells. The proposed legislation also removes obsolete references to dates and clarifies language.
This legislation will have no impact on the state’s General fund or any dedicated fund or federal fund because it merely removes outdated language and references and clarifies language.
