Electroconvulsive therapy, consent
HEALTH – Amends existing law to clarify that electroconvulsive therapy cannot be administered to a child under eighteen years of age without informed parental consent.

This legislation adds to Senate Bill 1354aa and clarifies that electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) may not be administered to a child under the age of eighteenth (18) without the informed consent of a parent, guardian, or custodian of the child.

This legislation causes no additional expenditure of funds at the state or local level of government nor does it cause an increase or decrease in revenue for state or local government, therefore, the legislation has no fiscal impact.
