Political subdivisions, purchasing
PURCHASING BY POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding procuring services or personal property.

RS30346 / S1083

Under current Idaho law, when political subdivisions contemplate an expenditure to purchase or lease personal property or procure services, they must solicit no less than three bids or quotes if a purchase exceeds certain monetary thresholds. This legislation maintains all protections for Idaho taxpayers in the public bidding process and makes adjustments for inflation in the personal property procurement process.

This legislation would have no impact on the general fund because it only changes when political subdivisions must submit procurement of personal property or services to bid.
