APPROPRIATIONS – FUND CORRECTION – Relates to the appropriation to various agencies to correct the fund source for fiscal year 2023.

RS30429 / S1123

This appropriation bill corrects errors found in appropriations to several state agencies. The errors occurred because appropriations were made from an incorrect fund. For transparency purposes, the Legislature chose to track expenditures from the ARPA State Fiscal Recovery Fund, which is separate and distinct from the American Rescue Plan Fund. This bill provides a series of net-zero corrections to the fiscal year 2023 appropriation that reduces the appropriation by $401,800 from the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) Fund and increases the appropriation from the ARPA State Fiscal Recovery Fund by the same amount. Agencies affected include the Office of the State Board of Education, Department of Lands, State Historical Society, Military Division, and STEM Action Center.

Additionally, this bill includes a onetime appropriation to the Division of Veterans Affairs for allowable expenses from the ARPA State Fiscal Recovery Fund for staffing, personal protective equipment (PPE), and costs of using staffing agencies to supplement the current staff at the state veterans homes.
