Charter school funding
PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOLS – Amends existing law to provide for certain distribution of funds to public charter schools.

RS31573 / S1392

This bill restores public charter school facility funds, which were inadvertently reduced by the passage of H. 292 in 2023. It sets the minimum at $400 per student. From FY 2021 to FY 2023, the per-pupil amount fluctuated between $389 and $422 per student. This is not intended to increase funding; it simply puts the schools in approximately the same positions they were in before. Additionally, it specifies that future virtual charter schools and school districts that authorize virtual charter schools are not eligible for these funds.
